yes to period education
We believe in a world where girls aren’t held back because of their periods, and where they grow up in an environment that supports and empowers them. For this to become reality, period education is crucial. That’s why we created yes.period – a platform offering a wide range of guides for group-based period education. Whether you’re an NGO or a government, yes.period makes providing period education easier than ever.

Period education for all
Are you ready to help girls navigate their periods with confidence? Or to create a supportive environment for them by introducing boys to the topic and helping caregivers guide their daughters through puberty? With the yes.period Guides, you can easily integrate group-based period education trainings into all kinds of programmes. The Guides are free of charge and available in a wide range of regional and language versions.

Girls
The Guide for Girls leads facilitators through two 45-minute training sessions. In the sessions, the facilitator reads the story of a young girl to the group – a girl just like them. The story is enriched by engaging learning activities. This way, both teaching and learning become easy and enjoyable.

Boys
With the Guide for Boys, facilitators lead boys through two 45-minute sessions in which they learn about their own puberty, gain an understanding of menstruation, and learn how to be respectful and supportive allies. They learn through the story of a young boy who discovers how to support his sister during her first period.

Caregivers
The Guide for Caregivers enables facilitators to lead adults through reflection and practical exercises that help them rethink how menstruation is approached at home. In a 1.5-hour session, caregivers build confidence to talk openly, support their daughters, and create a more supportive environment.
Impact beyond knowledge
As important as it is to provide essential knowledge about periods, trainings with the yes.period Education Guides don't stop there. They also strengthen confidence and create a sense of community. Girls develop confidence in handling their periods and discover how they can support one another. Boys develop empathy and learn to show up as allies. Caregivers feel more confident to talk with their daughters and support them. See for yourself and join the 700+ organisations worldwide that are already using the Guides.

Designed for impact
While yes.period is a new chapter, our story began long before. This platform is the continuation of a journey of the two initiators, WASH United and Splash, that both have long-standing experience in period education. From the beginning, a few core principles have guided us in both developing the Guides and our approach to impact.

How we have developed the Guides
Co-created with local partners
What truly sets the Guides apart is that they were developed in close collaboration with local partners. Their insights, experiences, and perspectives ensure the resources are effective and relevant for the respective audience. This collaboration is at the heart of our work and helps us to develop solutions that make it easier for other organisations to achieve a lasting impact with period education.
Child-centered design
Girls and boys are at the heart of what we do. During the development process for the Guides, we actively incorporated their perspectives and feedback. Additionally, we have drawn on the expertise of pedagogues and educators. This way, we have developed resources that truly meet the needs of everyone involved and approach the subject from the children’s perspective.
Product and brand neutral
As yes.period, we deliberately take a back seat so that your programme can take centre stage. Our guides are brand-neutral and do not display any of our logos. They also don't promote a particular type of period product. Instead, they enable you to provide girls with an overview of context-appropriate options. This gives girls the information they need to make informed choices.
