About yes.period

Making period education a reality for all
yes.period brings together the wide range of proven solutions for period education developed by WASH United and Splash.
In 2018, WASH United developed the initial Period Education Guide for Girls applying a user-centred design process that closely involved girls and trainers. Since then, WASH United has further refined the Guide and adapted it to more world regions and languages. Splash, one of the first organisations to use the Guide for Girls, developed additional Period Education Guides for boys and caregivers that help create a supportive environment for girls.
With the yes.period platform, WASH United and Splash have created a single home for all of our resources, thereby making them as easily accessible as possible. We hope that yes.period will enable organisations all over the world to maximise their impact and educate millions more girls, boys, and caregivers about menstruation.
Our model for collective impact
We offer free, easy-to-use solutions for period education that other organisations can integrate into their own programmes. This creates a win-win situation. Implementing partners can focus their resources on maximising impact on the ground, while WASH United and Splash focus on developing the best possible solutions for period education. This model works. Our educational solutions are used by over 700 partners in more than 50 countries. In total, we thus far have reached more than 3.1 million girls with period education.
Teaming up for Period Education
For years, WASH United and Splash have admired each other's work. By coming together, we’ve combined our expertise to broaden access to period education worldwide.
WASH United
WASH United is a Berlin-based non-profit founded in 2011. Over the years, we have shifted our focus from water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) to menstrual health and hygiene (MHH). Our goal is to create a period-friendly world where no woman or girl is held back because of her period. In 2014, we initiated the Menstrual Hygiene Day (MH Day) campaign to raise awareness and catalyse action on menstrual health and hygiene. In 2018, we developed the Period Education Guide for Girls and began sharing it with organisations that implement it as part of their programmes. The Guide was selected for the HundrED Global Collection 2026.

Splash
Splash is at the forefront of a growing movement to ensure that children in urban poverty have the resources they need to thrive and realise their full potential. We design and implement child-focused water, sanitation, hygiene (WASH), and menstrual health and hygiene solutions (MHH) with governments in some of the world’s biggest cities. And then we get out of the way: our goal is to demonstrate that our model works, build local capacity, and transition management to local organisations and governments. We partner with government agencies and local organisations to install water filters, water storage tanks, drinking water and handwashing stations, build and/or upgrade toilets, train teachers and administrators, and run programmes around behavior change and MHH at government schools. Founded in 2007, Splash has worked in eight countries and served more than one million kids worldwide
